MAG Instruments was founded by four friends—two craftsmen (Ricsi and Peti) and two musicians (Patrik and Áron). The company was born from a "serendipitous meeting" between the duo who specialized in metal shaping and the duo who were handpan players seeking better instrument reliability and tuning. They specialize in high-quality handpans made from premium cold-rolled stainless steel, focusing on durability, balance, and "sonic beauty." They are known for pushing the boundaries of the instrument, including the creation of Neotone, which they claim is the world’s first true digital handpan. They are active in the handpan culture, having co-founded the Hungarian Handpan & Worldmusic Gathering (HUG) and partnering with Handpan Community United (HCU). MAG Instruments is based in Hungary.
