Handpan Sound Journey & Bath at Capybara

Join handpan teacher Yana of Singapore Handpans and resident sound facilitator Meiyan of Capybara Bathing for a morning of music, stillness, and immersion.

This unique collaborative experience begins with an introduction to the handpan, inviting participants to discover the instrument's captivating voice and learn the fundamentals of playing. Whether you are completely new to the handpan or simply curious to explore its soothing tones, Yana will guide you through basic techniques, rhythmic patterns, and a simple melody, with opportunities to experiment, improvise, and play together.

Having spent time creating sound, we then transition into the practice of receiving it.

The second half of the morning unfolds as a restorative bathing experience. As you move through the warm and cool pools, sauna, and spaces of the bathhouse at your own pace, the gentle resonance of live handpan music & song fills the space. Performed by Yana and Meiyan, the music becomes a companion to the rituals of bathing - inviting you to soften, slow down, and settle more deeply into the present moment.

Allow the vibrations of the handpan to wash over you as water, warmth, and sound come together in a meditative journey of rest and renewal.
